Nature’s Harvest® Whole Grain Challenge Breakfast Recipes – And Giveaway!

Who is ready for the Nature’s Harvest® Whole Grain Challenge and some yummy breakfast recipes?

Oh, you don’t know about the Nature’s Harvest® Whole Grain Challenge? Well, let me give you the lowdown. First, did you know:

The U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommends that adults eat 48 grams[1] or more of whole grains daily and children ages 4-13 years old eat a minimum of 40-48 grams per day[2]. However, studies have shown that the majority of children and adults are not consuming the recommended amount of whole grains.

I had no idea. Did you?

And did you know Nature’s Harvest® Bread has EIGHT grams of whole grains in one serving makes it so much easier to get 48 grams of whole grains in your diet each day!

Finally, the Nature’s Harvest® “Whole Grain Challenge” encourages families to incorporate 48 grams of whole grains into their diets every day. From July 13 to August 10, you can take the whole grain pledge on the Nature’s Harvest Facebook page and you will automatically be entered into a weekly sweepstakes.  On the right hand side of Nature’s Harvest Facebook page, you will see this:

Prior to making the recipes, I went shopping and was surprised to see how many varieties of Nature’s Harvest® Bread that was available including:

  • Nature’s Harvest® 100% Stone Ground Whole Wheat Bread
  • Nature’s Harvest® Honey Wheat Made with Whole Grain Bread
  • Nature’s Harvest® Butter Top Made With Whole Grain White Bread
  • Nature’s Harvest® Butter Top Made with Whole Grain Wheat Bread

I told my daughter, “Don’t eat this bread, it is for a recipe I am creating.” Unfortunately my son didn’t hear me and came up to me later that day and said, “Where did you get that bread? It’s really good.” WHAT!!! I had to run downstairs and see how much of the bread was gone. Luckily only two slices or Reece would have gone out shopping. True story! HA! I guess I need to make sure they both hear me next time.

I really like how many whole grains are in each serving of Nature’s Harvest® Bread (8 grams!)  and REALLY like that they offer it in white. I am a white bread kind of a girl, while my kids are wheat bread kids. Anyway….another thing I really like about Nature’s Harvest® Bread is that there are no artificial colors or flavors.

Other pluses:

  • At least 8 grams of whole grains per serving
  • No high fructose corn syrup
