So..I bet you are wondering what lucky dog received the Doggie Gift Basket right? Well, after doing all the shopping for the Doggie Gift Basket and putting it together, Maggie decided she wanted to tell you about it. Maggie is our 1.5 year old pup who adopted us.
Maggie here. I wanted to tell you a little about Tanner. Tanner was running the streets for a while..lost and alone..and cold! He barely has fur…what do you expect? One day he turned a corner and saw a nice man looking at him. That man brought him home and the next thing you know Tanner had a new house! Nice and warm..with a Mom and Dad (Danielle & Brian), a little girl (Sam), and of course another dog to play with! I knew Tanner was the perfect candidate for the Doggie Gift Basket because that nice family saved him and he deserved to have some nice things!
Tanner is a little bitty dog, but I can tell you from experience that being little doesn’t mean you aren’t the Top Dog! Let’s get to know Tanner a little better shall we?
Maggie: So tell me Tanner, are you the Chief, the Big Kahuna, the Big Cheese, the Top Dog in your house yet?
Tanner: Since I am still smaller than even the 7 month old kitten, I haven’t even made it to big cat yet… All the girls, my sisters, call me Runt and Kid and steal my toys. But it’s ok because I am just happy to have a family who loves me!
Maggie: Awwww Tanner….you have a lot to learn…come hang out with me for a while, I can show you ALL it takes to become Top Dog! I am the smallest and youngest of 3 dogs, but I rule the roost! Oh wait..this isn’t about me….Hmmm..where was I? Oh yea, so how did you like the Doggie Gift Basket?
Maggie: Dude! Relax! It’s cool – don’t chose a favorite……sheesh! Now, as the Big Kahuna at my house, I know how to get more snacks.
Let me give you some tips:
~ Fake an injury. Run in from outside and limp, just a little, and look up at your owner with those sad eyes…You will get some loving and a Milk-Bone®. However, limp for an hour or less…otherwise off to the dreaded vet you will be going!
~ Yelp. When your owner walks by you, yelp as loud as you can! Yep, makes them think they stepped on you! Guilt always equals a treat like Pup-Peroni!
~Play Dumb. Lastly, when your owners are trying to teach you a trick, even if you have that trick nailed down and you want to show off your stuff, keep making mistakes! More Training = More Treats like Milo’s Kitchen!
You understand me Tanner? Capiche?
Tanner: Yep…I do! Thanks for the tips!
Maggie: No problemo Tanner…follow me kid…I will take you places. I may be the Big Cheese, Top Dog at only my house, but I intend on ruling the neighborhood! See you soon Tanner, enjoy your Doggie Gift Basket!
