Have you ever walked in some place, looked around, and then because of the atmosphere, you felt inspired to try something new? I have, it happened just last week at We’re Sew Creative. We’re Sew Creative is a contemporaryfull service sewing and quilting shop located in Concord, NC near Concord Mills Mall.
What you might call 10 fingers on your hand that can help you create masterpieces, I call 10 thumbs, because my fingers don’t seem to want to create anything masterful. But man, do I want them to! As I was walking around We’re Sew Creative I kept seeing these items that had been hand made – towels, quilts, purses, shirts – And right there I wanted to stop and pick up a pattern, take it home, and get to work! But alas, I don’t know the first thing about sewing.
That’s ok though because We’re Sew Creative offers classes for beginners and more advanced classes for the experienced. This got me to thinking. I am lucky I even know how to hem a pair a pants at all! And the only reason I know how to do that is because my Mom taught me! Wouldn’t it be nice if my daughter learned how to sew? She is so creative, I bet she would love doing some of these projects. Well, luckily for me We’re Sew Creative also offers Summer programs for children. Now I can’t wait until Summer! But they don’t offer just basic sewing and quilting classes – Their shop is well rounded in that if offers a wide variety of classes like Flannel Pants/Pajamas, Tuffet Class (yes like Little Miss Muffet Sat on a Tuffet!), and more.
But We’re Sew Creative offers even more – Like Long Arm Certification Classes. Did you know We’re Sew Creative rents their Long Armso you can finish your quilt yourself? Seriously! And and as an FYI, do you know that when making a quilt, when you are adding the pieces together, that is called “piecing”, but what the Long Arm Machine does, is actually the “quilting” part of making a quilt? Kim, one of the owners taught me that!
We’re Sew Creative is not your traditional sewing shop. They are contemporary in spirit, classes offered, items available for sale. Their employees are experienced and helpful and when you walk in, you really do get the feeling they are there to help you. However, that does not mean they do not cater to traditional sewing clientele. They offer everything any quilter or sewer may need and more. That is what makes them unique and that is what is going to keep their customers smiling.
They offer:
Baby Lock
Amy Butler
Henry Glass
Clothworks
Floriani Thread
Kaffe Fasset
And more!
I cannot do this shop justice in this post. You will just have to see them for yourselves.
Sew…what are you waiting for? (get it? “sew” hahha!)
