It seems like every time I am at the grocery store with one of my kids, while we are standing in line to check out, undoubtedly they will ask for gum. Seriously. Every time. Even as my kids have gotten older, I still ask them if they have brushed their teeth. Even though 95% of the time they say yes, I ask them continuously because  I think getting kids in the habit of good oral hygiene habits early is really important. Teeth are one of those things that literally, if you don’t take care of them, they will not last. When they were younger and I was trying to teach them to get in the habit, what worked for me was praising their beautiful smiles and fresh smelling breath after they were done brushing. Praise was the best way for me to get them in the habit. And now, keeping keeping your kids teeth protected between brushing is as simple as having them chew some  .
