Ever have one of those days when you are applying lotion or cosmetics and wonder, “What the heck did I just put on my body??!!” I know I have!
That is why when I had the opportunity to review several products from Revolution Organics I jumped at the chance. (No, I literally jumped. The static from the carpet shocked me when I clicked the “Reply” button on my laptop.)
About Revolution Organics
Revolution Organics was started by Melissa Shabinsky and Alexandra Zanella. Revolution Organics was created “… out of our own personal desire to simplify our lives and to make healthy, responsible lifestyle choices, beauty products included. We wanted luxurious, beautifully formulated, healthy multi-purpose beauty products that could do more so we could use less.”
But what makes these products so “revolutionary”? The fact that they have created products that can multi-task!
All Over Skin Creme
North Carolina and my skin just don’t play well together in the winter. The air gets quite dry here in the winter and there are some days I feel like I am a snake shedding my second skin. Even my kids know what the word “ashy” means when referencing their skin.
This luxurious organic skin crème is specially formulated to deliver instant moisture anywhere, anytime eliminating the need for multiple skin care products. Ultra rich, non greasy formulation to smooth, nourish and protect your face, neck, hands, legs, arms, feet and more. Essential oils, vital plant extracts, vitamins and nutrients to replenish, moisturize & nourish skin plus a patented organic 3 tea compound that promotes cell rejuvenation, skin elasticity and age defying free radical fighting antioxidants for beautiful radiant skin everywhere.
I just loved this moisturizer! I keep it in my purse at ALL times and I found that using it immediately after taking a shower drastically reduces the “shedding of skin” effect later in the day that I seem to experience. Another plus to this moisturizer is that it can also be used on your face unlike other lotions that should only be used on your body.
The Lip Balm
These winter days can also do a number on my lips if I am not careful. I must, at all times, have lip balm on during the winter. Otherwise my lips feel dry as a bone and I hate that.
A vitamin-packed moisturizing blend of nourishing oils, butters, fruit and plant extracts to repair and restore lips to their natural, supple fullness.
If you are looking for a fruity flavor or a stinging affect when you use this lip balm, then you will be disappointed. There is nothing but moisturizing going on here. I use this every morning after taking a shower to seal in the moisture and reapply as needed the rest of the day. Not super glossy, but not matte either, it is the perfect complement in addition to your other lipsticks or to use alone.
All Over Body Balm
The All Over Body is probably one of the best products I have tried in a very long time. The All Over Body Balm claims it has at least 22 uses. I have tried 20 out of the 22 and I will say, they are correct!
This portable all-over certified organic solid moisturizing balm instantly softens and smoothes skin. Enriched with organic butters and nourishing organic oils rich in vitamins A, B,C and E. With over 22 uses from your nose to your toes, use anywhere, anytime for the entire family.
I have used this on my hands, my cuticles, my feet, my face, my hair, and everywhere in between! My two favorite uses for this though is to use it as a primer for my makeup and on my hair. I know – weird! But it works WONDERS on my hair! The dry air, totally dries out my hair and I apply this at night on the ends of my hair to try and keep some of the moisture in – and it does a fantastic job! I don’t wake up to a rats nest on the back of my head when I use this.
The only thing that might turn someone off on this is the scent. I was trying to figure out what the heck it smelled like. It is not perfumey or even bad smelling, but it does have a distinct smell. To me, it smells a bit like citronella. But let the scent of citronella dissuade you from this product, because it ROCKS!
Freedom Lip Gloss
As a lip gloss addict, I am quite particular about the glosses I choose. It must be glossy and it better not taste like medicine.
Organic aloe vera and olive oil soothe and soften as organic beeswax protects skin. Packaged in recyclable, biodegradable, eco-chic material, Freedom Gloss infuses lips with all-natural mineral-based pigments, delivering good-for-you color.
Freedom Lip Gloss passes my lip gloss test. It was glossy, did not taste like medicine, and I really loved the colors. The Shimmering Golden Rose was my favorite by far. I generally am not a red lip gloss wearer but The True Strawberry Red gloss was great! It was quite sheer with a hint of shear red and I was surprised I liked it so much. The Fresh Warm Peach looked the least best on me, but looked great on my daughter who has more of an almond skin tone.
Freedom Glow Beauty Balm
There are mornings that I wake up and hardly have time to brush my teeth, let alone put makeup on, so when I find a product that can multitask, you can bet I am going to try it.
100% natural and created with 85% certified organic ingredients, this beauty multi-tasker delivers an instant healthy glow anytime, anywhere. The all-in-one balm infuses lips, cheeks, eyes, and décolletage with a natural, dewy radiance.
Now this is my kind of product. And I was really surprised that my favorite was “Bronzed” (the brownish looking one). It wasn’t really “brown” brown if you know what I mean. I used it on my cheeks first and when I applied it there was this big dark mark on my cheek and I was thinking “What did I just do!” but then I rubbed it in, and it just looked GREAT. I don’t like to toot my own horn, but sometimes a color just works for you and this one worked for me!
It is extremely sheer, so when you rub it in the color is quite subtle. I am sure if you apply layers it would be darker, but the subtleness was perfect for me! And since I was so happy it looked great on my cheeks I applied it to my eyes and lips as well! It was easy to carry around in my purse so I could whip it out on short notice if I needed to.
