On these hot days, don’t you just love a tall glass of lemonade? Lemonade hits the spot right? And the best kind of lemonade is homemade lemonade!
And if you get bored easily, you can mix things up a bit with a couple of variations of lemonade.
I know making handmade lemonade takes some time, but it is so much better than any store bought lemonade I have ever had!
Homemade Lemonade
Ingredients
1 ½ Cups Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (approximately 10 lemons)
1 Cup Sugar
5 Cups Water
Directions
1. Combine 1 Cup sugar and 1 Cup of water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved, approximately 4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
2. While sugar water is boiling, squeeze 1 ½ cups of lemon juice. (Use a reamer or juicer.)
3. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled sugar syrup, lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water.
4. Taste for tartness. If too tart, add a cup of water. Remember when the lemonade is served over ice, the ice will dilute the lemonade.
