The Natural Choice Apothecary Product Review

The Natural Choice Apothecary Product Review

A few weeks ago I was contacted by The Natural Choice Apothecary to see if I was interested in reviewing a couple of their products. I said yes because I like small, local companies who are trying to not only make a name for themselves, but in the process of their every day business adventures, they take into account the environment and natural alternatives to products people use everyday.

The Natural Choice Apothecary sell their items online at their Etsy shop, but they also attend Farmer’s Markets and even at the Metrolina in Charlotte every month! The Natural Choice Apothecary keeps you updated on their whereabouts on their Facebook page, The Natural Choice Apothecary, so check them out!

So what did I review?

The All Purpose Healing Salve

This actually came in very handy, for a few different reasons. I was born and raised in California and while I was growing up, it was cool to rub baby oil all over yourself and fry in the sun. So cool. However, as time went on, it was discovered that frying yourself in the sun like a piece of bacon was probably not so great for you. For that reason, I visit my dermatologist on a yearly basis just to have a skin cancer screening. (If you haven’t you should!) Well, about two weeks ago I went and lo and behold they found some skin they weren’t too fond of so they took a pretty decent size sample of it in order to get a biopsy. Unfortunately it wasn’t a really small cut and kind of hurt afterwards. They want it to heal, but not too quickly so you have to keep those cuts moist while they are healing. I immediately thought of The All Purpose Healing Salve. I used it where they took the biopsy. It did not sting, it did not hinder the healing and it made it feel better.

Secondly I used it for my pathetic little feet. I swear, did someone replace my heels with sandpaper? What the heck? Where did THESE feet come from. UGH. Summer too. I used The All Purpose Healing Salve on my super dry heals and after a couple of days, they weren’t so bad. I was a little shocked. You know what I think? I think it would work great on heels during a pedicure. You know how they scrub your feet silly? I bet using The All Purpose Healing Salve at that time or at least right after would make your feet even better!

Restore & Repair Gluten Free Lotion Bar – VEGAN Organic Natural Lotion Anti-aging Twist Tube

The Restore & Repair Twist Tube was truly handy. I could pop it in my purse easily and instead of trying to squeeze lotion out of a bottle from the inside of my purse, this solid twist tube was perfect! While I can’t really tell a difference in the way my skin looks, I can tell it has made my hands and forearms super soft. After applying it, if you are not used to GOOD natural products, you might feel like it is a tad bit greasy, but  give it a few minutes and it soaks into your skin, leaving it super soft. Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it’s greasy at all, but if you are used to store bought lotion in a bottle, you will notice a difference. But remember, no store bought lotion, that I can remember, has made my arms and hands feel this soft!

Natural / Organic Lip Butter Balm in Rose Shimmer

If love could come in a small little lip balm tube, it would be in this! I loved the Organic Lip Butter Balm in Rose Shimmer. It was smooth going on, it kept my lips protected from the sun, and it also gave them a hint of shimmery color. LOVED IT. So much in fact, I had to hide it from Betsy (my daughter). She has a tendency to ‘use’ the stuff I proclaim to love and then it just happens to end up in her bathroom, purse, or room. I hid this one in the zipper pocket of my purse! HA!

About the Natural / Organic Lip Butter Balm in Rose Shimmer

This all natural soft lip butter has a frosty mauve shimmer to it with a slight minty tingle.
The Rose Shimmer Lip Butter is made with Organic Shea Butter, all natural Avocado Oil (Natural SPF), Organic Beeswax, Organic Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E Oil, Titanium Dioxide (Natural SPF & shimmer), Black Cherry Mica (No FD&C or Carmine!) and Peppermint Essential Oil.

The Natural Choice Apothecary’s newest Lip Butter Balm is called “Healing” which includes all of the healing properties of the All Purpose Healing Salve in the silky smooth recipe I use for the Lavender Lip Butter. Definitely sounds like I am going to need to try this!

If I had three thumbs, I would three thumbs up all three of the products. I would definitely purchase them and actually, want to find out the next time the Natural Choice Apothecary is going to be at Metrolina because I NEED to try the Organic Warming Scrub...it sounds delightful!!!!
