HomeTown Heroes Kids Day 2012

HomeTown Heroes Kids Day 2012

Holidays with HomeTown Heroes has become a tradition for my family and I.  Why? Because they are a great group of people, doing great things for kids, but the best thing about HomeTown Heroes? They are big kids so they KNOW how to make kids smile…families smile, even if those families are going through a terrible time in their life.

Yesterday, we headed over to the HomeTown Heroes Christmas Tree Lot in Charlotte for Kids Day and this time we brought my sister and her kids. Last year at this time, I was still in shock from losing my Mom to cancer, but I went to the Kids Day anyway.

Who are HomeTown Heroes?

Every year they have three Christmas Tree lots, the one on Mallard Creek and two in Monroe, NC where 100% of the proceeds go to the Families of Hometown Heroes. Who are the families of Hometown Heroes?

“Hometown Heroes is dedicated to those kids that need some big friends. Our focus is to make these children and their families OUR families. “Big Kids Helping Little Kids” isn’t just a slogan, it’s a promise to make a difference in the lives of some kids that can use our help.”

Hometown Heroes has touched me in a way that I don’t think any other organization ever has. These men and women put their hearts and souls into everything they do to help this kids and their families who have been affected with cancer.
