I Cooked Mac ‘n Cheese and Cookies on My Dashboard!

It has been so flippen’ hot here the last few days Betsy and I decided to try and cook Mac ‘n Cheese and Cookies on the dashboard of my car!

The temperature in my car right after turning the car off after driving to the store and back with the air conditioning on full blast read 80 degrees!

We went in the house, got the cookies ready and mac ‘n cheese ready and in the temperature in my car was 120 degrees! It rose 30 degrees in 10 minutes!

After leaving our food in the car for another 15 minutes, we went to check on it. Not only were the cookies clearly cooking, the temperature in my car rose another 40+ degrees – the gauge read 160 degrees!

We left the mac n cheese and cookies out in my car for 1.5 hours and what did we discover?

Yes, you can cook mac ‘n cheese in a car in this kind of heat – although..it was actually OVER COOKED – It was disgusting. I could not make Betsy even try it!

And yes, you can bake cookies in a car in this kind of heat. Seriously, the top of them were a little crispy, but they seemed to be more “melted” on the inside.

In case you are wondering, yes, Betsy did end up eating a few of the cookies.

And I did try to fry an egg on the asphalt – that was a failure though…It just caused a big mess!
