I need anti aging products now? Sheesh.
Maybe I have been living under a rock, but I guess it is time for me to start using anti aging products now, or else go get a needle of botox in my face. Actually, I should have been using anti aging products since I could wash my face, because the environment and time sure can cause a lot of damage to your face if you aren’t careful. Am I right?
I used to live in California when it didn’t seem to be any big deal to lie out in the sun and let the sun burn you like a piece of toast. However, that all stopped for me when I went to Hawaii on vacation, was in the sun all day and woke up and couldn’t open my eyes. I had sun poisoning! My face was swollen so badly I looked like I had a balloon on my shoulders. I also burned my skin so badly that it was actually bleeding. That was my last time not using sun screen on purpose.
However, the years go by and the environment and sun do take their toll on your skin as you get older so when I had the opportunity to review two of Timeless Skin Care Serums, I thought, why not? I am always looking for THE product that will help me look my best.
I was given two products to review:
Matrixyl 3000 Serum
This serum contains two active ingredients, Matrixyl 3000 and hyaluronic acid. Matrixyl 3000 said to be a “major wrinkle fighting ingredient used as an alternative to Retin A. Increases collagen synthesis up to 350%.” And Timeless Skin Care uses 8 % concentration in this product. The cost of this Timeless Skin Care serum is $22.95 for 1 ounce.
I used this product for a good three weeks morning and night under my moisturizer. I followed the directions and used 2 drops on my fingertips and smoothed it onto my clean face.
I liked the way this made my skin feel, nice and soft. While my little crows feet and frown lines did not disappear, I do believe using this product reduced their visibility which is all I can ask.
20% Vitamin c+e Ferulic Acid Serum
This is another serum in the Timeless Skin Care line and the serum that combines hyaluronic acid with vitamin C. 20% Vitamin c+e Ferulic Acid Serum is said to, “Contain Vitamin C, an antioxidant that evens skin tone and helps build collagen. Also contains vitamin E and Ferulic Acid, used to extend the life and effectiveness of Vitamin C.” The cost of this Timeless Skin Care serum is $24.95 for 1 ounce.
Honestly, I have never been a fan of serums that contain Vitamin C. I am not sure why. Not because they don’t work, but because I just don’t like the way it feels going onto my skin. However, I went ahead and gave it the old college try! And like the Matrixyl 3000 Serum, I used it for several weeks and did notice a reduction in my little crows feet and frown lines.
However, I did follow the directions and it says to use 2-3 drops on your face, but I did not think that was enough. By the time I got the drop to my face, it did not go on an easily as the Matrixyl 3000 Serum. I probably used 4 or 5 drops every time I used it.
So which did I like better?
Obviously, the Matrixyl 3000 Serum was the winner in my book!
As with all skin care products, do your research first on the ingredients of each product to prevent any negative effects of the ingredients, and no I did not have any! Also make sure before buying skin care products you research the company as well.
