Mother’s Day Gift Guide – Chuao Chocolatier Review & Giveaway

Unusual flavor combinations are at the heart of Chuao Chocolatier’s unique experience and I had the pleasure of reviewing the Bar Collection with my family and friends. The Bar Collection includes are bar of each of the following:

Firecracker – Premium dark chocolate bar with chipotle, salt, and popping candy. Yes – you heard me correctly – POPPING CANDY!

What we thought – Not a surprise here, the kids (including the big kid himself, my husband) absolutely loved this. Chocolate and popping candy?! Who could think of a better combination!

Spicy Maya – This is a dark chocolate bar infused with a hint of Pasilla chile, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon. “It’s a return to chocolate’s ancient roots with traditional ingredients that pay homage to “The Mayans”, the first chocolate-worshiping culture in the world. Vegan.”

What we thought – WOW – Chocolate with a kick! Definitely a favorite with the adults. The children (ages 9-12) were not as fond of this. With a definite hint of spice, Spicy Maya lives up to it’s name.

Honeycomb – This is dark chocolate with crunchy, caramelized honey. “Its pleasing layers of tropical flavors and contrasting textures seduce chocolate lovers like bees to a flower.”

What we thought – This one didn’t even make it over to the party. For our family (including two kids ages 9 & 11) this was the definite favorite. Once we started eating it, the Honeycomb bar was gone..there was none left! Sorry everyone – you missed out on tasting this one!

Panko – This is a dark chocolate with pank (rough cut bread crumbs) and sea salt. “The Panko bar evokes memories of two long time favorites—sweet pain au chocolat and savory chocolate covered pretzels.”

What we thought – Definitely a hit with everyone, but my absolute favorite. The chocolate was creamy and smooth, but then there was a crunch in every bite – LOVED IT!

I was definitely impressed with the Bar Collection from Chuao Chocolatier and I would absolutely buy it! So, if you know a Mother who loves chocolate, particularly specialty chocolate, then you must check out Chuao Chocolatier.
